Cole Palmer has won the 51st edition of the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Young Player of the Year Award for 2024.
Palmer claimed the laurel ahead of Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, Michael Olise and Brighton & Hove Albion player, Joao Pedro.
He also beat Manchester United’s duo of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo to the award after amassing 40 goal contributions for Chelsea in 45 games across all competitions last season, scoring 25 goals and registering 15 assists.
The former Manchester City player had earlier clinched the Premier League Young Player of the 2023/2024 Season and London Football Award Men’s Young Player of Year 2024.
He also bagged two awards in the west London club last season; winning Chelsea Player of the Season and Chelsea Player’s Player of the Season.
Similarly, Manchester City player, Phil Foden, 24, was awarded the PFA Players’ Player of the Year, while Jamaican international, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw won the women’s category.
The PFA Premier League Team of the Year has the quintet of Arsenal’s players; David Raya, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
Others are Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk, quartet of Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, Rodri, Phil Foden and Erling Haaland as well as Ollie Watkins.
Manchester United’s Grace Clinton won the PFA Young Player of the Year (women’s category), while the PFA Women’s Super League Team of the Year include the sextet of Manchester City’s players; goalkeeper, Khiara Keating, Alex Greenwood, Laia Aleixandri, Yui Hasegawa, Khadija Shaw and Lauren Hemp.
Others are Chelsea’s trio of Niamh Charles, Erin Cuthbert and Lauren James; Lotte Wubben-Moy (Arsenal) and Grace Clinton (Tottenham).
Crysencio Summerville won the PFA Championship Player of the Year award among others.
